The clouds above  are soft and the red earth sighs with  the far off chant of  natives,  pure and natural.  Now we are a hard place of  frozen sidewalks and rails of  trains that rush on like flocks of panicked geese. Their cold  box cars  carry the forgotten  to Portland and unknown destinations where men in fine suits, their eyes lit with cruelty,  sit behind vintage desks.  We  have forgotten  the sweet breeze of a summer downpour,  the call of a  whippoorwill,  everything beautiful that begs us to look up.

  1. Profoundly beautiful! Felt like I was reading Murakami (I don’t read fiction much, so pardon my reference). It transported me to a different dimension, altogether! Short but evocative! Liked it.

    1. For the past few years I am editing for authors whose first language is not English. I put together a book of poetry at the bequest of my dead poet a number of years ago, it is free at bookrix though sadly raveled now, downloaded over 2500 times. I haven’t considered writing a story. Thank you for asking Andrew.

        1. I love the art of Steve Hanks and a number of others and like to use them when appropriate, this didn’t seem to strike me as a soft subject in need of art Interesting observation Resa. : )

          1. 😀 I agree. I even wondered….if she did use a pic… what in he** would that look like? You’ve painted two sides of coin here. How does an image show that? 😀

  2. Perfect title beautiful, the battle of society for humanity. Well, there’s always life on the Red Planet.😊. This was deep but I really enjoyed the read, the struggle was intriguing alone.🌹🌹

  3. Bonjour ou bonsoir Heart la jeune fille
Je passe avec un cocktail d’amitié
Pour que l’on puisse trinquer ensemble

Avec un velouté de bonne santé
    Que l’on puisse le partager
    Ainsi qu’une poêlée de gentillesse
    Avec beaucoup de tendresse
    Pourquoi pas pour accompagnement
Un plateau de douceur en chocolat

Pour adoucir ta soirée ou ta journée

Belle journée ou fin de journée

    Bisous Bernard

  4. Yes, so grateful for the reminders to look above. I also loved your poem at the Go Dog Cafe. (I think that’s what it’s called. I just followed your link there.) Keep it ‘up’, House of Heart!
