It was a delight collaborating with Mr. Cake @ https://cakeordeathsite.wordpress.com/.  I hope you enjoy our poem. Thank you Mr. Cake.  For fun we have left it to you to decide who has written Part 2 and Part 3.

Toyen-The Unfolding Screen Toyen-The Unfolding Screen

I recently suggested to Miss Heart of House of Heart that we collaborate together on a particular hare-brained idea. I am delighted to say that the gracious Miss Heart agreed to indulge my whim and displayed not inconsiderable patience with so idle and tardy a rogue. The result is the following poem, one half written by the vastly talented Miss Heart and the other part by myself. Like any work of the imagination it can be read in a number of ways or fashions. Suffice to say that there are many conflicting versions of events, that the same incidents can recur in different locations with a varying cast of characters and that all you may surmise doesn’t necessarily dispel the mystery.

          1. Yeah.. I’m on Art Gowns right now where life is all silver satin and black lace. I’m working on a book review. My opening line (this is my quote, I made it up)“Never judge a book by its cover, unless there’s a gown on it.” -Resa
            I’m soooo excited!

  1. And yet again I find myself wishing I were on the wait staff at Café Rouge et Noir watching from a chaste distance as eyes tell a story the ears cannot hear.

    1. It’s quite a story, a love affair seen through the eyes of both the man and woman ( in this case the man’s thoughts written by a woman , the woman’s experience written by a man ) the passing of years and perhaps the conclusion at the Cafe et Noir (a brilliant idea of Mr Cakes). I’m pleased you found this compelling.

      1. A brilliant twist of perspectives, sort of like the man’s Anima expressed and the Woman’s Animus. I can never assume anyone on the planet sees things the way I do, but this poem had a romantic dreamlike quality for me. I was intrigued and wanted to read more of this story. Truly the kind of work that leads to a timelessness that never grows old in the telling. So, naturally, I was in the audience screaming for an encore.

          1. Aww shucks! Not really kind at all. Just totally blown away by your talent. Don’t worry. No need to wear sunglasses and a hoodie in public. I’m well behaved in spite of the impressions I give. 😊

          2. I think you made me blush. ☺️ I am a firm supporter of the hoodie nation, especially on the trail. The wildlife trusts me more with my hoodie on and I can get pretty close without them getting too worried. I think they are just waiting for a chance to mug me for the trail mix. Chipmunks are a tough crowd.

          3. Waaaa haaa haaaa! I can’t help but like those little rascals. They are so ingenious in their ability to steal food out of your backpack. I’ve even heard them squeal with delight when I walk by.

          4. Oh yes, I like it when they stay in their natural habitat. Attic squirrels are noisy little party animals and they tend to ignore maximum occupancy rules and quiet hour. 😬🤫

          5. I’ve heard that. To me that would be like living in a large cinnamon roll that required me to eat my way out. What a life that would be. I’m sure my chomping nom nom sounds would annoy my host. If coffee was introduced, I might be convinced to stay.

  2. I have not read the collab yet, but I’m sure I’ll be able to tell your writings. some special things should give it away, unless Mr cake has similar style and taste and you have decided to have fun. Tell me if I’m wrong. On to the original post.
