The sun is still low in the sky,
it’s rays have barely begun
to pierce the chill of our pale window.
Don’t go,  we are scarcely out of dreaming.
Caress my breast with the lifeline of your palm
while my head rests in the crook of your shoulder.
With these  fingertips you kiss one by one
I will ease the furrow of your brow and
soothe your body with the twining of my own.
Let the hours pass  through us tenderly
like a shallow river of fledgling reeds.

  1. Holly, I have not seen, but do like the sensuous phrasing of “sooth your body with the twining of my own.” Very evocatively said. Nicely done. Keith

  2. Tender love is all I can say when reading something so peacefully romantic Rene🌹. A beautiful description of a lovers hand caressing while the sun follows the same path down the body, such passion.❤️

      1. Another comment on the Nina Simone post. Perfect. She was a great artist. The background beat on that Seeline woman song was very similar to what I heard in west african music a long time ago.
And another thought: on the video your friend posted, was that the Klan marching in Washington, D.C.? OMG. Don’t want to know when that was, I just hope it never happens again.
        Be good Coeur de feu.

  3. Perfection Rene. These vignettes into a soft and sweet romance is immortal. Just to dream such perfection in love is enough to last. Some dreams are memories from this life or another. It makes the moment of rising from sleep a beautiful start of the day.
