Remember back when you were a rock star

and I was a hippie angel?

How comfortable we were with our

heart and souls bared.

Do you remember now that you are so far

away that night in Eden when you came to me

and I came to you and the rest of the world

slipped away?

We held on to one another, made love and cried

decided never to speak of how every time

the lights went out you rushed to me,

so tender, coming and going.

Young and in love, we named that month Sextember,

yes, it still matters to me.

Do you remember our anguished goodbye?

Neither do I.

Have EYE ever thanked Holly enough?

  1. I love Resa’s drawings, and your poetry. Together they are fantastic. I’m always surprised when groups like Vanilla Fudge, who I thought were long gone, reemerge. That’s a nice version of “You Keep Me Hanging On”.

    1. I found a photo of Vanilla Fudge from 2018 that includes Carmine Appice. One in the same in the Polaroid? I’m a little slow sometimes.

  2. There was something charming and spontaneous about those old Polaroid photos.

    Unlike people these days trying to pose for the “perfect selfie” and the “perfect selfies” are the only pics they bother to post on social networking sites.
