Alone here,
I can hear the chatter of anxious birds. The wind and rain have shredded their nests. A sudden flight of wings fill wispy petals of clouds passing over.
Wandering further beneath the tall pines I hear their creaking branches stretch like old bones. Needing to be heard, the brittle crunch of leaves beneath my feet make their sound.
A White tail deer watches warily from a grassy knoll, his majestic antlers in silhouette against the splintered rays of sunset. My breath is but a whisper in this sacred place that offers everything and asks for nothing.

  1. This reminds me of a favorite book I read when I was young, The Secret Garden. I love how the art and your beautiful words go so nicely together. ❀ I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holly. Hugs to you. ❀

      1. Hugs back to the writer of this luscious prose.
Again I am inspired of you. Next year, when I do another Art Gowns Fashion Show, I want the theme to be Motorcycle Art Gowns. How cool would that be. Maybe Gi would draw some Chicklets in MC Gowns.
So many ideas…. fringe, studs, straps… Gi’s hair super spiked!

    1. Ah, thank you Marina. It is deserving . I’m sure Oanes could write an opus in honor of nature’s beauty, he probably already has. β€οΈπŸ€—πŸŒΊπŸŒΉπŸπŸ§‘πŸ₯°

        1. That’s so sweet and beautiful. Since we were talking about Oannes, (smiles) , I guess he’s hummed most but always so exceptionally well. He’s amazingly gifted and so are you! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’œβ˜ΊοΈπŸ’œπŸ˜˜πŸŒΊπŸ₯°πŸ¦‹πŸ₯³πŸ’. Thank you dear Marina. And thank you to Oannes too for brightening the day with such beautiful music.

          1. I will pass your lovely words to him… I’d call him a ‘compulsive hum/whistler’… just as well he’s so talented [I hope he doesn’t read this – he hates being praised!]. Thank you so much, my sweet friend… these mean so much – I hope you know!
Meantime: Have a beautiful December!!!!! β€οΈπŸŒ»πŸ’β€οΈπŸŒΊπŸŒΈπŸŒΌπŸŒΈπŸŒΊβ€οΈπŸ’πŸŒ»β€οΈ

  2. You are in my head 😳! This poem captures what my senses embrace when I’m out in my beloved nature. The last line is profound and sums up my lifelong relationship with nature. She provides all the sustenance of life and asks for and often receives nothing in return. A healthy stag in the forest light is a magical sign that deserves the reverence our ancestors gave such a moment as well as Lazada’s artful piece. Thank you for the sighs and happy thoughts, Rene.

    1. I’m so glad you could relate to this but knowing your love of nature and how you would be as Mesmerized as I in such a magical place I’m not at all surprised. Thank you for joining me or was I joining you there in your lovely mind? Such s beautiful comment Dan, you always brighten my day. πŸ¦‹

      1. I do think we are of one mind in the call of nature. You see and write the experience in a magical way. It’s the ambrosia of souls and reading you is like being there. (Except I don’t have to clean my trail shoes when I get back) πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹
