The sky is bleached

a roll and crash of thunder

the grass is tall

beneath the rain trees

I ache to leave

my crying place

before melancholy claims

this ruinous summer

let me stretch out

like some sexy feline

a carnivorous Panther

fighting the

impulse to pounce

  1. Claw me,
all the way into deep sweat
    and forgetting.

    Chew me up,
    touch by touch
    by thigh by thigh
    by heartbeat,

until I don’t have to play anymore.

I want the truth of those claws,
    pulled all the way down
    from the sky.

      1. Always an honor and pleasure to share your posts, Holly! Yes, we got past those major storms and still mainly hunkered down. All is well here. How about You and yours? Have been having a fun weekend?

  2. I adore this.

    A sultry image is painted.
Then the feline purrs quietly, stretching & feigning disinterest of its flesh wanton hunger.
The time to pounce is a critical measure.
    Patience thy name is cat.
    I’ve seen this, many times.
    Love you meeces! xoxo

    1. They are the best stalker’s with infinite patience’. My cat loves the island ( and Fl in general) because we have lizards everywhere. Tide likes to watch. If course I try to save the lizards but he’s quick!
      Love you too Meeces! xoxoxo

      1. OMG! You take Bajheera with you! (did I spell that right?) I understand how you feel about the lizards. Pupkin was a birder. Broke my heart. He was so proud to bring his gifts to Norman.
Then we moved and he became an indoor cat. In all the years here, he caught 1 mouse. Only 1 ever got in.
We were asleep in bed. He put the dead mouse on Norm’s chest.
Hahahaha! Norm woke up & hit the ceiling! Big strong man. lol xoxoxo

  3. The sky is bleached .. got me. Couldn’t stop after that. Love the way you capture your verse in words. It’s potent and potentially a very awesome read .. can’t miss any of your posts for anything in the world.
