The small lake shimmers with light

reeds rustle beneath

the feet of a fawn

leaning forward her pink tongue

curls backward

spattering the sweetness of life

into her nose and eyes

spotted ears pull sideways

heeding the sigh of the forest

the breath of a breeze

the kiss of sunlight transforms

autumn gold to green

beyond the edge of the wood

fall collides with spring

in  tender places of the wild

Do No Harm

  1. Poetically beautiful ode to nature Rene, from the lovely weather and running water all the way to the peaceful sounds of animals that share its environment.🌹. And the ending verse, “Do no harm”…gorgeous ending.♥️

    1. Thank you Cindy, written awhile back but we must protect those creatures in their habitat. So many pets have lost their homes due to the pandemic the humane society is letting them go for 5.00 here. I wish I could save them all. ❤️

      1. Always an honor and privilege to read and share your posts with followers, Holly! Hope your week is going well and that you are being safe with this D variant going around and being so much more dangerous! We are starting to wear masks again! Just to be safer, from those in Texas who won’t take the vaccine!

        1. Thank you so much Chuck, you are a dear man. I really appreciate all you do. I am trying to be safe and glad you are wearing your mask. Just as things were getting better the D V came along and Florida is #1 in the country in new cases as I’m sure you’ve read. I’m wearing my mask again into to protect myself from those ill advised individuals who think only of themselves in risking their lives, but so regret it when they arrive at the ICU. My ex mother in law died of Covid during the last surge, a republican in denial. Her family is grieving still. Take good care !

          1. Oh, Holly! It is such a huge relief to know that you are so careful and conscientious about COVID! I’m not really surprised just happy to hear it from you! I know where you work makes you more exposed! Didn’t know Florida was #1, thought it was California. Texas isn’t far behind – none of it great. As they are saying it’s a pandemic of the unvaccinated. It is so stupid that people think it is their liberty to have the right to infect other people because they are fools. Yes, it is sad to see someone who has to pay the price for their bad choices. Sorry to hear about your Ex-Mother-in-Law. I’m sure her passing is even harder knowing that she would probably still be alive if she had gotten the vaccinations.

You take care too, Dear! As always, I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

          2. You’re in my thoughts Chuck. I’m glad you are doing your best to stay safe. It’s even more of a challenge now with the D. variant out there. It’s very sad that my ex mother in laws daughter is a nurse and tho she too is a GOP denier of the facts her job required she be vaccinated. Now she blames herself for her moms outcome. It’s a dystopian world we find ourselves in but we have to carry on. Much love to you🌺❤️🌹

      1. The band was FAB! It was so long since they played that they really put soul (&VOLUME) into it.
By the time they did Helter Skelter they were on fire! I wish you could have heard Helter Skelter! WOW!
BD went okay, but won’t know results until I speak with my doc in about 10 days. ❤ ❤

          1. Tomorrow! Band night!
The Covid thing is nuts in the USA! I hope Canada doesn’t follow, but we usually do.
            People don’t get it.
We need to starve the virus!
Walking is my saving grace! xo

          2. Just as we were seeing the light of day , I’m totally pissed at the nonvaccinated. There is no excuse here in the states, so much misinformation out there. I must walk miles a day too up eight flights of stairs. I prefer the stairwell over the elevator. Be well lovely. xoxoxo

          3. Agree! The non vaccinated could sink the ship. We are doing slightly better in Canada.
However, there are some very resistant pockets.
            Ontario is doing well. 18 yrs. + 80.4 % w/ 1 dose – 65% fully vaccinated.
            including 12 yrs + – 69.75 w/1 dose. 55% fully vaccinated.
Canada’s average is lower due to the resistant pockets.
1 province has rising cases since they opened to stage 3. Parties, movies and restaurants are the culprits.
Quebec has moved backwards and put restrictions back on.
Anyway, I found a sweet piece of art! Come by for a look see! It sure beats Covid! xoxoxo
