Primitive

 Across a velvet backdrop
stars hang like crystals
strewn across the heavens
softly glowing lanterns
encircling tiny tealights
that wax and wane with
the out breath of sighs
dislodged they plummet
a streaking spectrum
in  the heavens
to vanish over mountains
plunge in to the sea
or diffidently fade into
a dark horizon
we are like the ocean
ebbing and flowing,
tumbling waves of unrest
altering course or still
as tide pools
hostage to the moon
until the heat of night
inflames our primal hearts
come out, ignite, be the fire.

Windscape

Let me be the  summer sun
who shines for you without expectation.
A  rhythmic  breeze that shapes soft
passages where you travel uncertainty.
Let a  herald of archangels fill your
your heart with unworldly treasure.
I will be  your blood moon,
the swell and pull of tides  that
draw you near.
Ascend with me on a windscape
strung of stars  far from
the world below.

Nothing Has Changed

When dreams pull me under
I call out across the ocean.
You meet me at your shore
and there is nothing to  hold to
but silvery shadows that cross
and uncross in my slumbering sea.
I bend to you as fragile as  sea foam
tossed in wind rifts  you release
from unfastened hands.
This is how I love you, a prisoner of repetition,
like endless waves you come and go.
